Paralimni Legal Consultants Urge Public to Voice Opinions To Local MPs on Title Deed Legislation
Legal Consultants in Paralimni – Review – Title Deed Reform Delay – Completed on 28th July 2010. Cyprus Title Deeds
There are many angry people over the Cyprus Title Deed legislation being delayed. The Government has made a lot of promises to the public and had failed to follow through on these.
It has been reported that the delay is due to lack of information not being given to the relevant officials, and therefore these officials have no recollection of them.
However, the Minister believes that all details were discussed and agreed up on and therefore were ready to go to the House of Parliament to be passed.
This discrepancy is very frustrating to the public and the delay will carry on until at least October after the summer holiday has finished, before discussions will open again on the issue.
Some details within the bills are being totally rejected by certain parties and even when talks do continue in October it appears it will still not be smooth sailing.
Some views seem to be that the bills do not help purchasers who have already brought property and are having trouble claiming their Title Deeds due to the developer mortgaging the land, even after the launch of the contracts to the Land Registration office.
The Title Deed Reform was devised to help with the country’s high deficit in mind, so not only are many people still stuck without a Title Deed solution, the state deficit will also suffer until progress is made.
Now if some of the bills are being rejected and discussions and amendments need to place further, this could mean a very long wait and 2010 may not be the year to celebrate the Title Deed reform.
Our office after extensive hard work trying to get the Title Deed Reform moving, has written to the Minister asking for the legislation to be passed as the public are very angry over this issue.
We urge all citizens to write to their local MPS stating their views and ask for them to hasten up this frustrating issue. We believe that we should do something about this! The Minister states that the parties have delayed the bills, so let’s ask our local MPs about this?

PARALIMNI LAWYERS SAY GIVE US A BREAK AS WATER CHARGES EXPECT TO DOUBLE IN CYPRUS
Paralimni Lawyers – Reviews – Water Charges – Completed on 29th May 2010.
We have to bear bad news, which do not often do! It is expected that water prices are set to double in the very near future. This is supposedly due to the Europeans Unions Water Framework Directive.
To cover water services the Cyprus water board provide residents will in doubt have to start paying double on their water bills.
There have been talks of a flat rate, water meters and a rate for each district. In England water meters have been installed in each property and this seems to work pretty well. Water meters seem to be the best option we feel as each household uses different amounts of water and why should a family of 2 pay the same as a family of 6.
The general opinion is why should we pay double on water bills when we cannot even drink the water. Electric prices have also soared and so it seems will water prices. Is Cyprus on the way to becoming on par with the UK for high bills and taxes?
In a sense it could be deemed a good thing as people tend to take water for granted, when we indeed should cherish it, especially with the current global climate issues.
The water issue is in the hands of the Agricultural Minister, so we will have to wait and see what the out will be. We do hope that Cyprus will be fair a give us a break!
We as a nation should do our best and conserve water and energy, seen as nobody knows what the future holds for our global environment.

PARALIMNI LAW FIRMS URGE TURKEY TO PROTECT CHRISTIAN FAITH
Law Firms in Paralimni – Studies – Switzerland Vote – on 15th February 2010.
Swiss nationals on the 29th November 2009 took part in a vote against minarets in their home country of Switzerland. The verdict was unanimous in the vote against further minarets being built.
Muslim communities throughout Europe and the rest of the world are strongly opposed to the referendum and the result.
However, opinions widely voiced are that the Muslim communities do not protect Christian Churches and Temples situated in Muslim communities. Yet at the same time Muslims demand equality in Christian states. This is disproportionate and unfair.
We believe that all religions are our friends and that includes the Muslim religion. We believe in the rights of the Muslims and therefore they should protect our rights as Christians.
Muslim Temples and Muslim traditions in Greece and Cyprus are greatly respected and we feel this treatment should be reciprocated.
We request that the Muslim Congregation allow Christians the right to use Christian Churches and Temples in Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus and Turkey. We request that Christians be allowed to practice their religion in these religious places originally built for Christian worship.
We also expect Turkey to allow the Great Agia Sophia Church in Istanbul Turkey, to once again be used as a place of worship for Christians all over the world.
World Peace between religions must be our priority.

PARALIMNI LAWYERS DO NOT BLAME UK NATIONALS FOR EMIGRATING
Lawyers in Paralimni – Studies – UK Taxes – completed on 10th February 2010.
The UK is well known for high taxes on just about everything you can think of. And now to make things worse the UK government are planning a 50% tax deduction from income earned.
It is no wonder a lot of the countries wealthy individuals are looking to immigrate to tax efficient countries. Switzerland is top of the list for the wealthy UK nationals along with Mauritius.
This is a tragedy for the UK which will see many residents take their savings and invest and live overseas. Then who will foot the Tax bill?
Property firms are waiting for the rush to happen and are listing many more developments in countries that offer beneficial taxation policies.
Cyprus is another favourite for low taxation polices, in fact it is one of the main attractions for foreigners investing commercially and residentially in our country. Along with Cyprus being a major financial centre.
It has been reported that wealthy UK nationals are receiving tax bills of around £100,000 and they feel this is unacceptable.
Developers need to have the right properties available for this market. As soon as the tax amendment is official and it hits Britain with storm, the wealthy UK nationals will definitely boost the luxury property markets.

CYPRUS WILL IS OF GREAT INPORTANCE CLAIM PARALIMNI LAWYERS
Now you have purchased your new Cyprus Property, its time to think about you and your family’s future and seriously consider making a Cypriot Will. The Law in Cyprus differs tremendously from the English Law in relation to Wills, and without a Will in place, it will inevitably affect your property being distributed according to your wishes.
The cost of a Cyprus Will depends on the value of your property, as the amount is calculated and governed under a court formula in accordance with the Cyprus Law. Your assets can be left to anyone of your desire from your partner or children to your favourite pet or charity and can include numerous beneficiaries.
Our experienced and fully trained staff can assist you in the preparation of a ‘Tailor Made Cyprus Will’ adhering and authenticating your requests. In order to prepare your Will, our staff will require full details of all beneficiaries. We will then require your presence at your own convenience in order to sign, and for the Will to be officially witnessed.
Members of our staff are qualified to advise you on Inheritance Tax, Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Single and Joint Wills and The Operation of Public Guardianship.

SNK ADMINISTRATION – PARALIMNI LAWYERS QUOTE ‘WE MEAN BUSINESS’
On the 10th August 2009 we took over the Administration Order for SNK Developers. Since that day we at A&G Kouzali Lawyers based in Paralimni Cyprus, have devoted our services and have been working full-time primarily on the construction of the discarded projects in the hope that they can still be completed thus, avoiding any relevant persons losing out from this unfortunate event.
We have continued to find many difficulties in our quest to complete these projects. However, with the great support of all the sub-contractors and the existing SNK clients, we are proud to announce that Elena Gardens Phase 1 is ready for delivery to the purchasers.
We are expecting the Electric Authority to supply power within a few days. And even better news is that we are expecting the District Office to issue the Final Building Permit as this was approved 2 years ago by SNK, who never managed to obtain the license.
We have started minor construction on phase 2&3, along with the Dinos project, of which construction will endeavour to accelerate early in the next 2 weeks.
We urge the SNK clients to continue supporting us, as our hard work is benefiting them solely.
Visit us at www.lawcyprus.org for more information on these projects.
